Astronauts are space travelers, colonizers of the universe, adventurers who go where no man has gone before, to conduct researches and increases humanity’s awareness of the cosmos. Every astronaut has a variety of tasks in his job description, they include spacewalks, conducting experiments, sustaining life on and operating space stations such as the ISS, and exploration missions to the Moon, Mars as well as other planets and celestial bodies.
To become an astronaut, one has to have at least two university degrees in an area of science including physics, biology or engineering, several years of practical experience in their areas of specialty, pass through a tough training regimen and must be in prime health. These are vital to scientific and technological development that is exhibited by medical research, technology and materials, environment, and technological inventions. Astronauts also become role models to the people and stimulate development of interest in science and technology, students who wish to engage in STEM careers, the public as well as fascination of space sciences.
