I've pondered this myself :).

What makes ‘you’ like ‘me’ will always make ‘me’ like ‘you’. If ‘you’ are not ‘you’ and ‘me’ not ‘me’ yet ‘we’ are related then does that mean ‘we’ are ‘us’ and not ‘I’?
