As a former anthropology major, I was swept away by this. I've been on a few digs in my day and the way you describe your experience with these bones is lyrical. I loved these lines:
"But the work, though sometimes tedious, brought a sense of life, a proclamation of existence, for not only those humans in those bins, but also for me. The fleeting nature of life, captured in the deaths of each of these individuals, painted this in broad, electric stroke. But it was also a snapshot of humanity."
