Okamoto doesn’t shy away from examining things like the exploitation of adjunct faculty members, the college teacher’s pressure to teach while keeping students entertained, and the ever-looming threat of student evals. These trials plague many professors, but as he explains, the oppression is magnified if the teacher is in a minority group (in his case, a person of color). Universities have a lot of progress to make if we want to treat all people fairly.
